Although the points table suggests otherwise, Yorkshire have actually done pretty well in the competition thus far. They have been at the receiving end of the luck in multiple matches, losing matches by minuscule margins. As it stands, they are placed at the fourth spot on the ladder and a win here would take them to the second.

However, Dearden's dismissal brought Alex Lilley to the crease, who single-handedly provided Leicestershire's with much-needed momentum. Yorkshire bowlers tried to stage a comeback and bowled exceedingly well at the death, but remarkably good batting by Leicestershire's batsmen stole the game from the Vikings.
Vikings strength in the tournament so far has been their batting and it wasn't different in the match against Leicestershire as well. Yorkshire were without Joe Root and there were a few concerned faces due to Root's absence. However, his absence made no difference as Yorkshire Vikings posted a towering total of 188 batting first. Adam Lyth and David Willey added 70 off 41 for the second wicket after Lyth got Vikings to a terrific start. Their innings appeared to be losing way in the middle-overs, but some fantastic hitting by Jonny Tattersall and Jordan Thompson played excellent knocks each, helping Yorkshire post a challenging total.
Its been on and off kind of tournament for the Vikings so far. On paper, they have a terrific team that has almost everyone doing well. While the absence of Joe Root takes away a bit of balance, Yorkshire shouldn't be too worried about his absence as Root was never a regular player for them.
